— Overview
The Challenge
Application needed a specific power output through a gear train fitting inside a tightly restricted housing envelope, leaving little room for compromise on gear geometry.
Engineering Approach
Power and torque requirements were worked into gear ratios, module size, and tooth counts stage by stage, with material and hardening selected for sustained load durability.

18.5:1 Ratio Delivered in a Tight Envelope
The final gear train delivered the required 18.5:1 output ratio across three stages while fitting entirely within the housing’s restricted envelope. Module and tooth geometry were sized for the specified torque load, and the splash lubrication concept removed the need for a separate oil pump.
